Fishing anyone?

Ok, today I will share a Biblical pun...if you don't mind. I have been wanting to paint this little beta fish for awhile. I was too late to post it on Inspiration Avenue's challenge but had to try it. I was wondering about a good little caption to put with it. Here's the verse that came to my attention -
"Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise Him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God." Psalm 42:11
Ok, so "cast" is the only thing having a bit to do with fishing, and fish. It is a stretch, I admit. However, I personally find it so "ironic," if you believe in irony, that the very verse I needed to hear today is the one I found only when I went in search of something about fishing. God has a sense of humor. If He does, then I think I can certainly lighten up a bit. Here's to health, to hope, to Him!

  1. Julie, I love the colors and the way you painted the background! God does always seem to lead us to scripture we need to hear. :) I need to check out the next Inspiration Avenue Challenge. Have a great day!!

  2. Thanks so much! Inspiration Avenue was just what I needed - different artists, different ways of approaching things, and they all looked like they had a blast doing it. I was looking to have some fun after spending several days getting depressed as I looked at many masters of painting who are way out of my league! Swirly fish seemed to be just what I needed. I'm ok with that. :) I also checked out your picture of Florence. I love the colors you used. I wish I could "see" in that way. You're blessed.
    Happy Sunday!!
